This song...

Oh man.

This song gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. It is so inspirational and heartfelt and uplifting. It is beautifully put together, too.

Amanda Sudano and Abner Ramirez, a couple in "real life", come together to form Johnnyswim. Their dreamy and spirited vocals work so pleasantly together that it is almost unbelievable.

I had the opportunity to see Johnnyswim perform live at Firefly this summer, and it was one of the best, most engaging, and most fun performances I've ever seen. These are some happy, friendly, lovely folks. They really made an effort to include the crowd, and they seemed genuinely surprised and pleased that there were so many people there to see them perform. They laughed, joked, and sang their hearts out for us.

"We're the fire from the sun. We're the light when the day is done. We are the brave, we are the chosen ones. We're the diamonds, diamonds. We're the diamonds, diamonds. We're the diamonds, diamonds, rising up out the dust..."

Upon first glance, these lyrics may seem simple and a bit repetitive. But once you add the angelic and romantic voices of Amanda and Abner, as well as the unmistakable rhythm of two obviously talented musicians, you've got the makings of an excellent song.

Give it a listen and let me know what you think!

This particular video is from a session on Live from Daryl's House (which is basically the best show ever), so the dynamic is a little different than usual, but I think it will give you a peek at the raw talent that flows through these two. If you'd like to give a listen to some more of their music you can check out their Youtube page here.

And if you have any suggestions for next week, just leave a comment and I'll check it out.

Now, here it is, folks!
